Hopefully Margo had a blast with the girls, and enjoyed the chocolate cupcakes with strawberry frosting.
Note: this extra "T" cupcake was for my friend Tammy. Sadly, I wasn't able to get it to her in time and had the difficult task of disposing of it. I ate it so quickly, I nearly choked...
Happy Celebrating Girls!!

I need to make Typography cupcakes for an upcoming event and this looks like a great idea! Could you perhaps tell me how to make the letters or where to buy them?? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteHi Lillian - my process was pretty simple here. I chose the most appropriate font (ornate, but not too complex) and printed it out cardstock. I then adhered a sheet parchment paper to my printout and traced the letters in royal icing using a pastry bag and small tip.
ReplyDeleteMake sure your royal icing isnt too runny or thick - it should be a easy to pipe, and stable enough to maintain the shape of the letters. Be generous with the amount of royal icing you use if you want them to stand upright.
Let your icing letters dry for a min of 24 hours before use.
Hope this helps! Good Luck!!!
Thank you so much for responding!! I will take your advice (and report back!)
ReplyDeleteOh good - I'd love to hear (and SEE!!!) how they turn out. send us an email if you think we can help out during your process :) my description may be a bit confusing :S
